Please Note: The Solaris 9 OS ships with 128-bit encryption as a standard. Higher levels of encryption are available and will be offered in the US in the near future.

The Solaris 8 Operating Environment delivers end-to-end security for business-critical enterprise applications and robust workgroup computing. Easily configured, flexible, and independently certified, security in the Solaris Operating System includes features such as DES, 3DES, IPSec, Kerberos, Pluggable Authentication Module interface, smart card, SKIP, and SunScreen software support.

At a Glance
The Solaris Operating System 128-bit product has received retail classification approval from the United States Department of Commerce BXA and is now freely exportable. It can now be exported under license exception ENC to any end user worldwide with the exception of terrorist and embargoed countries, including Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Serbia/Montenegro (Yugoslavia), Sudan, and Syria, and parties listed on the Denied and Restricted Parties List. It is also Sun's company policy to not ship products to Burma.
